Prompt Writing with Nancy Peacock

When: 10 am, second Saturday of every month

What: Serious writing begins with playful writing. Please join this unique, ongoing group of supportive adult writers and play your way into the possibilities of the written word. Based on the work of Natalie Goldberg (Writing Down the Bones, Wild Mind) we set a timer for fifteen minutes and write using prompts as our launch pads. This class is free and open to the public.

 

Second Sundays Poetry Reading & Open Mic Night

When: 3 pm, second Sunday of every month

What: One to two featured poet(s) will each read for approximately 20 minutes and, after a short break for the readers to sign books, there will be a poetry open mic. Please sign up to read no later than 6:45 p.m. Each open mic reader will be limited to one page of poetry. There’s an informal get-together before the reading at 6:30 p.m. next door at Root Cellar. Hope to see you there!

 

Youth Advisory Board (YAB)

When: Varies, see the YAB page.

What: Read and discuss your favorite books, and help Flyleaf decide which YA titles to order! A perfect opportunity for 9th-12th graders. For full details, check out the YAB page.

 

Mr. Keith's Family Storytime

When: 11 am, every Thursday

What: Stories, songs, bubbles, goofiness, and drawing, all brought to you by Mr. Keith. Mr. Keith is a dad, librarian, sci-fi fan, and goofball extraordinaire! All are welcome. And yes, that includes siblings, too.
