Flyleaf Second Sunday Poetry Series: Steve Cushman and Al Maginnes

Join us for our Monthly Poetry series, an afternoon of poetic readings. Featured poets will each read for 20 minutes, followed by a short break to sign books, then an open mic. Please sign up by 2:30 pm, and limit your reading to one poem, one page. Hope to see you there!
Steve Cushman is the author of The Last Time (Unicorn Press, 2023). His first full-length poetry collection, How Birds Fly, won the 2018 Lena Shull Book Award given by the North Carolina Poetry Society. He has also published two chapbooks, three novels, and a short story collection. His novel Portisville received the Novello Literary Award. He has an MFA from UNC-Greensboro
Al Maginnes is the author of ten poetry books, most recently a collection of new and selected poems titled, Fellow Survivors (Redhawk Press, 2023), as well as several chapbooks. He is music editor of the online journal Connotation Press. He taught literature and creative writing for more than thirty years at Wake Technical Community College, and presently teaches at Louisburg College.
