Flyleaf Second Sunday Poetry Series

Join us for our Monthly Poetry series, an afternoon of poetic readings. Featured poets will each read for 20 minutes, followed by a short break to sign books, then an open mic. Please sign up by 2:30 pm, and limit your reading to one poem, one page. Hope to see you there!

Maureen Sherbondy has published eleven poetry collections including: Lines in Opposition (Unsolicited Press, 2022) and Dancing with Dali (FutureCycle Press 2020). She is also the author of a YA novel and a short story collection. Unsolicited Press will release her forthcoming book of poems, The Body Remembers, in 2025. Her work has appeared in many journals, including Southern Humanities Review, Harper Palate, New York Quarterly, European Judaism, and Calyx. She teaches English at Alamance Community College.

Bruce Beasley is the author of nine collections of poems, most recently Prayershreds (Orison Books, 2023). His books have won three national competitions: the Colorado Prize for Summer Mystagogia; the Ohio State University Press/Journal Award for The Creation; and the University of Georgia Contemporary Poetry Series Award for Lord Brain. He has won fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Artist Trust of Washington, and three Pushcart prizes in poetry. He is a professor of English at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA.
