Kristi Helvig and Jen McConnel discuss their newest YA Sci-Fi/Fantasy novels, Strange Skies: Burn Out Book 2, and Gods of Chaos

In Strange Skies: Burn Out Book 2, Caelia is the new Earth. That’s what the Consulate tells everyone, and against all odds, Tora finally makes it there. However, she has yet to see an ocean since the view from her prison cell in Consulate City leaves a lot to be desired, and she knows nothing about what happened to the stolen weapons. Upon discovering that one of her guards is someone she had trusted, Tora learns that Kale’s intentions are more sinister than she first realized. She vows to break free, get the guns, and save her father. Yet first she must navigate a strange new planet, track down James, and find Kale—while hoping he doesn’t find her first.

Kristi Helvig is a Ph.D. Clinical Psychologist turned sci-fi/fantasy writer. You can find her musing about space monkeys, Star Trek, and other random topics on her blog. Kristi resides in sunny Colorado with her hubby, kids, and behaviorally-challenged dogs.

The gods of chaos cannot be trusted.
Since battling her best friend, Darlena’s grip on Red Magic has been shaky.  She heads to Scotland after the Winter Solstice in search of another Red Witch.   On a sightseeing excursion with girls from her hostel, Darlena arrives at The Vaults, a mysterious underground city beneath Edinburgh. But there is something there that make Darlena’s instincts go haywire, as she lets loose a defensive burst of Red Magic, putting everyone around her in danger. If there was ever a time when Darlena needed the help of another Red witch, it was now. But beware the witch who wields Red Magic. - See more at: http://www.jenmcconnel.com/p/blog-page_12.html#sthash.vnSNbtxp.dpuf
