John Claude Bemis presents the conclusion to his Clockwork Dark Trilogy, and our August Flyleaf Summer Readers book discussion.
Sun 8/28 2pm-3pm
Join author John Claude Bemis as we celebrate the publication of The White City, the thrilling conclusion to his Clockwork Dark Trilogy.
Open to everyone, especially the Flyleaf Summer Reader. This event serves as the month end discussion for August's Summer Reads.
We have double the reason to celebrate. We wrap up our Summer Readers Club and we get a special appearance by local author John Claude Bemis. We’ve been reading the first two books in the trilogy and get to meet the author!
In The Nine Pound Hammer (Book #1 of the Clockwork Dark Trilogy), Bemis introduced readers to a whole new approach to epic fantasy, founded on characters and themes from American mythology and folklore. Now, in the third and final book, it’s man versus machine all over again, fighting for the soul of humanity in front of Ferris’s Wheel during the Chicago World’s Fair of 1893. Ray and his friends have to bring all their powers to bear and sacrifice much as they face the evil Gog and his army, and confront a Darkness beyond imagining.
John always makes his appearances special. There is bound to be music and song and other fun! The event is open to all—not just Summer Readers Club members.
