Nicola Bodnar is a primary school teacher, artist, illustrator and writer living in the Cambridgeshire Fens. She moved out of London with her husband and two children four years ago in search of the three-quarter sky and some peace and quiet.
The bedtime pirates was the first of Nicola's Self-published picture books inspired by the birth of her son Lennon. Her newest picture book is called Lilah's Letters, which could almost be set in the fields behind her home. Her illustrations are full of colour influenced by her art degree from Canterbury Christchurch University.
As a child growing up in London she would often escape with the Scouts, this love for the outdoors and adventure has stayed with her and continues to be a big part of her life since her children drew her back into Scouting.
Little Lilah and her mouse family had to move far away from their nest to escape the hungry owls. Read Lilah's letters to her Nanny and Grandad and find out how their new home wasn't what they expected.
