Transition Carrboro-Chapel Hill Public Meeting
Public Meeting in the Flyleaf Events Space:
Transition Carrboro – Chapel Hill (www.transitioncch.org) is a group of individuals and organizations
growing a pathway towards a positive local future that meets our needs in the
context of the twin challenges of climate change and the end of cheap oil. We are part of an international, grassroots
network called The Transition Network.
We follow the Transition Towns Model developed by Rob Hopkins in his
book The Transition Handbook. Transition Carrboro – Chapel Hill is
composed entirely of volunteer
members from the Chapel Hill and Carrboro community. Our members are concerned
about the local community, and are interested in making a difference in some
small way.
Today’s meeting will include two 20-minute videos from the Powerdown Show, which is a 10-part TV series that takes a fresh and engaging look at the community responses to the converging challenges of climate change and peak oil. A discussion period will follow the film showings.
The Transition Handbook and The Transition Timeline will be available for purchase at Flyleaf books but pre-ordering by 5pm Sunday 3/7 is recommended to ensure you have a copy for this meeting.
