Teaching 2030: What We Must Do for Our Students and Our Public Schools--Now and in the Future

A Reception will follow the discussion

For the past two years, Barnett Berry  and a team of 12 accomplished teachers have explored an urgent question: What must America do to build a 21st century teaching profession that can fully meet the needs of today’s iGeneration and the millions of students who will enter our public schools between now and the year 2030? Drawing on their book Teaching 2030, Berry, Founder and President of the Center for Teaching Quality - a national nonprofit with local roots, and one of his co–authors, Cindi Rigsbee, NC Teacher of the Year in 2008 and a finalist for 2009 National Teacher of the Year, will lead an interactive session to share their vision. In doing so they will discuss keys issues parents, practitioners and policymakers must be aware of to build a profession that children deserve. Participants will be invited to take part in this discussion about what we must do in the present to ensure a bright future of all students.
