Special Hanukkah Story Time!

The Count's Hanukkah Countdown with authors Tilda Balsley and Ellen Fischer

Thursday, December 6 at 10:30 am

Join local authors Tilda Balsley and Ellen Fischer as we have lots of hanukkah fun in celebration of their new book, The Count's Hanukkah Countdown. At a Hanukkah party on Sesame Street, Grover and the Count welcome visiting Israeli Muppet friends Brosh and Avigail, tell the story of Hanukkah, feast on latkes, and learn that EIGHT is the perfect Hanukkah number.

Tilda Balsley is the author of many children's books, including Let My People Go, the Queen Who Saved Her People, Maccabee! and Oh No, Jonah! Now that Grover, Big Bird and friends have stepped into her stories, she says writing hs never been more fun. She lives with her husband and their rescue shitzu in Reidsville, NC.

Ellen Fischer was born in St. Louis, Missouri, not blue and furry like Grover and not quite as cute and loveable. He went on to Sesame Street and she went on to Washington University. She spent twenty years teaching children with special needs, then ESL (English as a Second Language) at a local Jewish Day School. She and her husband live in Greensboro, North Carolina.
