Humanities in Action: Food and Health in America

Presented by Carolina Public Humanities

With Alice Ammerman, Mildred Kaufman Distinguished Professor of Nutrition and Director, Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention

Everyone eats, but access to good food often depends on the eater’s community, income, and age. In this talk, a leading expert on food and eating patterns in America will discuss how the production and distribution of food affects children and adults in under-resourced communities within and beyond the United States—and how new initiatives might improve the diet and health of people who need better food.

Program Tuition: Tuition is $20.00 for everyone paying at the door. Advance registrants pay $18 per lecture ($13 for GAA members). For more information and to register, please visit this link. There are no preparatory readings for these events.
