This monthly reading series is co-hosted by Stan Absher and Debra Kaufman and sponsored by Flyleaf Books.
An informal get-together before the reading will begin around 5:45 at the Chapel Hill Foster’s, next door to Flyleaf. Please join the group for an hour of conversation. Featured readers will each read for approximately 20 minutes and, after a short break for the readers to sign books, there will be an open mic. Please sign up to read no later than 7 pm.
This month’s featured poets:
Joanie McLean is a self-employed ecologist living in Silk Hope, North Carolina. She has published two chapbooks with Finishing Line Press. Her poems have won awards in several regional contests, including first prize in the Fields of Earth Poetry Competition. They appeared recently in Third Wednesday, EarthSpeak, THEMA, and Xanadu. Joanie will read from her newest collection, Place.
North Carolina native Terri Kirby Erickson is the award-winning author of three collections of poetry, including her latest book, In the Palms of Angels (Press 53). She has been widely published in literary journals, anthologies and other publications, and has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net award.
