Carrboro Poetica: Four local poets read from their anthology- Sara Claytor, Phyllis Jean Green, Barbara Kenyon & Susan Spalt
Many of the poems in Carrboro Poetica emerged from monthly meetings and critiques of a group of female poets in Carrboro, NC. The topics and themes of these poems range from relationships to focus on characters to special events.
Sara Claytor: Author of three previous poetry collections and also recipient of first prize for fiction in various competitions, she is now focusing on flash fiction.
Phyllis Jean Green: Author of a poetry chapbook and a biography, she has 100’s of poems, stories and other works in print or on the Internet.
Barbara Kenyon: A retired teacher and professional flutist, and current Poet Laureate of Hillsborough, NC, she is writing her memoirs in prose and poetry.
Susan Spalt: Retired from a school health career, Susan has won poetry prizes in various contests and now a member of the Carrboro Poets Council.
