This monthly
reading series is co-hosted by Stan Absher and Debra Kaufman and sponsored by
Flyleaf Books. An informal get-together before the reading will begin
around 5:45 at the Chapel Hill Foster’s, next door to Flyleaf. Please join the
group for an hour of conversation. Featured readers will each read for
approximately 20 minutes and, after a short break for the readers to sign
books, there will be an open mic. Please sign up to read no later than 7
pm.
This month’s featured poets:
Al Maginnes’s fifth full-length collection Inventing
Constellations was published in October. Other recent books are Ghost Alphabet,
which won the 2007 White Pine Poetry Prize, and two chapbooks published in
2010, Between States and Greatest Hits 1987-2010. He lives in Raleigh and
teaches at Wake Technical Community College.
Claudine R. Moreau is the author of Dark Machines, a collection of "suburban gothic" poetry.
She won The Pinch 2011 literary award for poetry. She spends nights at the
telescope teaching astronomy and physics at Elon University, and is currently
at work on a collection of astronomy-inspired poetry.
