UNC HEAD COACH SYLVIA HATCHELL TO HOST WISH TREE PARTY WITH CHAPEL HILL SERVICE LEAGUE JOIN US THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2012, AT FLYLEAF BOOKS! Head Coach Sylvia Hatchell and members of the UNC Tar Heels Women’s Basketball Team will help kick off the Christmas House season of giving with a Wish Tree Party on Thursday, November 15, at 7pm. The event will be held at Flyleaf Books, located at 752 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Chapel Hill. Coach Hatchell will speak about her involvement with Christmas House as well as the upcoming UNC Women’s Basketball season. Team members will be available to sign autographs and meet attendees. The event is free and no registration is required to attend. Christmas House is Chapel Hill Service League’s signature annual community project. This event ensures a brighter holiday for more than 800 local children each December by giving financially challenged parents and guardians the opportunity to select new toys, books and coats for their children during a one-day, free shopping event. Coach Hatchell has been a longtime supporter of Christmas House and will once again serve as Honorary Chair of Christmas House this year. “Being involved with Christmas House is one of the most meaningful and exciting events of my year,” said Coach Hatchell. “I am always amazed by what the League does for the local community.” Although Christmas House is hosted and organized by Chapel Hill Service League, the entire community can participate by visiting the Chapel Hill Service League Wish Tree at Flyleaf Books. The Wish Tree will be decorated with paper ornaments which include information on the gender and age of a child in need. By selecting an ornament and purchasing a book to place under the Wish Tree, the community helps to provide holiday gifts to local families through Christmas House.   ABOUT CHAPEL HILL SERVICE LEAGUE Chapel Hill Service League is a local volunteer organization aimed at helping women and children of Chapel Hill and the surrounding area since 1939.The League’s membership is a dynamic and diverse group of industrious, friendly, and thoughtful women with a sincere desire to make a difference in our community!
