the Lost
This monthly
reading series is co-hosted by Stan Absher and Debra Kaufman and sponsored by
Flyleaf Books. An informal get-together before the reading will begin
around 5:45 at the Chapel Hill Foster’s, next door to Flyleaf. Please join the
group for an hour of conversation. Featured readers will each read for
approximately 20 minutes and, after a short break for the readers to sign
books, there will be an open mic. Please sign up to read no later than 7
pm.
This month’s featured poets:
Gail Peck is the author of three chapbooks and three full-length collections, most recently Counting the Lost.She is a graduate of the MFA Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College. Her poems and essays have been published in numerous journals, including The Southern Review, Greensboro Review, Nimrod,Cimarron
Review, Mississippi Review, Rattle, Cave Wall, and Brevity, and her work has been widely anthologized.
Larry Johnson, a native of Mississippi, lives in Raleigh, NC, and is the author of Veins (David Robert Books,2009). He teaches at Wake Tech Community College. He has been publishing poetry in magazines since 1965, including Chronicles, Poetry Northwest,The Iowa Review, and New Orleans Review. His work has
appeared in a number of anthologies, including The Best of Poetry Hickory Reading Series.
