Thursday 10/14/10  7-8:30pm MSR Reading & Open Mic Series (2nd  Thursdays) Every Second Thursday at 7pm, co-hosts Debra Kaufman and Stan Absher will start the evening by introducing two MSR authors as featured readers, followed by an Open Mic.  Readers, writers and appreciators of poetry, short fiction and creative non-fiction are invited to join in. Featured readers for October are Debra Kaufman (The Next Moment) and Ann Campanella (Young & Ripe).  Our guest host will be Florence Nash.  David Krawiec will be playing classical guitar prior to the reading, beginning around 6:40, so please come early if you can. An informal get-together before the reading will begin around 5:45 at the Chapel Hill Foster’s, next door to Flyleaf Books.  Please join us for an hour of conversation.   At the reading itself, the readers will each read for approximately 20 minutes and, after a short break for the readers to sign books, there will be an open mic.   Details are available from kaufman57@gmail.com or stanabsher@hotmail.com The Main Street Rag Publishing Company, a bindery and a publisher based in Charlotte, has published a quarterly print magazine since 1996. Among its features are poetry, short fiction, photography and graphic images, essays, interviews, reviews, cartoons and commentary.  MSR also publishes poetry through their annual chapbook and full-length poetry collection contests.  They also help writers self-publish their works; from design, layout and printing to shipping the books out.
